Leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) met in Abuja on Tuesday, but failed to name the officers of the party as was widely expected.
At the meeting, which was held at the residence of a former Minister of External Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi, the representatives brushed aside the issue of naming the party’s interim officers, saying they would not be stampeded into those decisions.
Those in attendance included Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Ibrahim Shekarau, Mohammed Gardi, Senator George Akume, Audu Ogbeh, Attahiru Bafarawa, Lai Mohammed, Emman Eneukwu and Rotimi Fashakin.
Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, Ikimi said the issue of a management committee was being worked out but that further consultations were required.
“There are no disagreements and we as merging parties are working and we had a fruitful meeting this afternoon and we have made fundamental decisions,” he said.
“One of the decisions is that we should now consult further with our various parties.”
