The State Director, National Orientation Agency Mr. Oliver Wolugbom has call on the new Brigade Commander of 2 Brigade Brigadier Uzamere to check the menace of crude oil theft and pipe line vandalization in the state. Mr. Wolugbom stated this during a courtesy visit to the commandant 2 Brigade at Bori camp, Port Harcourt.
The NOA boss said the position of the state as oil and gas hub of the country predisposes her to a lot of activities that need to be guided as to protect her from the destructive activities of vandals and illegal bunkering which also pollutes the environment.
He called on the brigade commander and its men to rise up to the challenges posed by illegal bunkering, crude oil theft and pipeline vandalization in the state. “These activities are taking its toll on the economy and the environment, therefore, the need to discourage these activities to salvage the state,” Wolugbom said.
The NOA boss equally commended the Brigade commander for their good work in the state.
In his response, the Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Uzamere commended NOA on the good work they are doing and assured them of his total cooperation to partner with NOA in the fight against illegal refining of crude oil, crude oil theft, pipeline vandalization and sea piracy.
The Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Uzamere, further assured his audience that they will work for the overall good of the State and Nation.
