The chairperson of the Empowerment Support Initiative ESI Lady Cabbies Scheme operators in Rivers State, Mrs. Chinelo Miracle Elem Okoh, has commended Dame Judith Amaechi, wife of Rivers State governor, for the gesture in providing cabbies for women in the state.
Mrs. Chinelo expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dame Judith for finding her with other 11 women worthy of her ESI lady cabbies and buses, which according to Chinelo was out of their hardwork and commitment to the transport business.
She added that over 300 women started the ESI transport business but only 12 were found to be worthy of the new buses allocation. Madam Chinelo used the medium to thank Dame Judith for helping to provide food on her table after her difficult days in contract business.
Mrs. Chinelo however called on companies, corporate organizations to partner with them, by hiring of the buses in some of their transport activities, as a way of encouraging them in the scheme.
Mrs. Chinelo further expressed joy over the approval to run-inter state from Port Harcourt to Calabar, adding that it is another way of expressing the good works of Gov. Amaechi and his wife Judith in Rivers State. ###
