Sharks newly contracted coach Gbenga Ogunbote has confessed that current players in sharks are not league materials.
The coach made this revelation during a chat with the Port Harcourt press shortly after drawing Nigeria professional league leaders Kano pillars at Sharks stadium last Sunday.
He categorically said the team is improving but he does not have a team that can compete in the league, adding that he is just trying to make use of the best in the worst situation.
He however assured fans of sharks that relegation is completely out of the way for sharks.
He admitted that his coming has fine tuned the team pointing out that the team is improving even as he does not have a team that could compete favourably in the Nigeria Professional league, promising that he will do everything possible to see that Sharks do not go to the lower league.
The Newswriter sports was at the stadium and watched reformed sharks drawing kano pillars at their ground.
Ogunbote solicited for support from Port Harcourt and sharks soccer fans.
Kano pillars were better in this particular encounter but failed to get a goal to their credit at sharks ground.
Sharks technical Adviser, Ogunbote demonstrated his technical acumen after having a chat with his side in the halftime as sharks came out smoking but losing valuable goals scoring chances to the grievances of their fans.
Ogunbote is causally eyeing week 9 to sign some quality new players to strengthened sharks attack so as to solidify sharks league. According to Ogunbote this is to help sharks not to be relegated in the league.
