There are indications that the leadership tussle in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State may have depended as Governor Amaechi has rejected the decision of the Abuja High Court that gave judgment on Monday in favour of Mr. Felix Obuah.
In a swift reaction, the commissioner for Information and Communication, Rivers State, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari in the media said the people of Rivers State will not fold their hands to see injustice done to the members of the People Democratic Party in Rivers State by the decision of the High Court judge in Abuja.
Mrs. Semenitari had earlier stated that the governor would study the judgment before making a public comment on it. She said “We have heard the judgment and we are waiting for legal advice from our lawyer before making any comment”.
However, the commissioner said “the state government and the PDP faithful will not fold their hands and watch this happen to them”.
A statement many believe was contradicting in its entirety as the commissioner have not reported the legal team findings, before the statement. Hon Felix Obuah’s led executive was yesterday sworn-in at the Party National office in Abuja and are expected to resume duties any moment from now.
According to some PDP faithful any attempt to halt the Obuah led administration in the state by any means may result to deepening the crisis in the party. ###
