Community Development: Group (OYC) Honours, Identify With Philanthropist

 

As part of effort to further stimulate Community development especially in Agwut-Obolo community and Obolo ethnic nationality at large, in Andoni LGA of Rivers State, the Obolo Youth Congress, OYC has given a pat on the back of one of her own and nationally renowned philanthropist, Comrade Anthony Emmanuel Ntedeng.

The OYC had in recognition of the numerous people’s oriented projects embarked upon by the philanthropist reeled out and conferred award of honour for selfless service on him, Comrade Anthony

Speaking before the presentation, National President of Obolo Youth Congress and chairman Agwut-Uboon Vanguard, Comrade Mgbowaji Augustus commended the President General of the Maritime Union workers of Nigeria and founder/President of Nted Foundation, Comrade Anthony Emmanuel Ntedeng for the love he has for Agwut-Obolo, as well as Obolo in general in embarking on community development projects, coupled with provision of employment opportunities for not only the youths, but the people of the local government.

Comrade Mgbowaji noted that the laudable achievements of the philanthropist and unionist are worthy of appreciation and honour hence the organization’s decision to honours him with such an award.

Comrade Mgbowaji used the occasion to admonish all Obolo Youths to desist from  social vices and borrow a leaf from Comrade Anthony who has worked harder and from a humble background to where he is today. He told the youths that their hardwork must certainly take them to a higher level, noting that their background is no limitation to their success if they work harder.

The presentation was made during the commissioning of several developmental projects in Agwut Obolo community and beyond.

In his response, Comrade Anthony, popularly known as comrade Tony Nted thanked the Obolo Youth Congress and pledged his support for the youths promising to create chance to meet with the youths.

Comrade Nted through the Nted Foundation had commissioned several people’s oriented projects including, a 155 meters dual carriage bridge, another 85 meters single carriage bridge, 12 classroom block, potable drinking water with treatment plant, a worship centre, 4 units of 10 rooms each of public convenience, landing jetty, distribution of fishing garjets and outboard engines. ###
