What Does Boko Haram Want?
Worker: What type of country is Nigeria, that the citizens do not have peace at all? Boko Haram or whatever they are called what do they want from the federal government and the people of Nigeria?
The federal government in a bid to end their useless insurgency against the Nigeria federation have offered them amnesty which they do not deserve, yet they are making things so difficult for the federal government to have a smooth governance for the citizens.
Federal government may not be pushed to the unthinkable but the way they are going it seemed to me that the good for nothing so call religion sect is after breaking the country. If not why did they not accept the amnesty offered them out of the federal government goodwill. Afterall they do not deserve amnesty at all.
But wait a minute; the word amnesty is being abused in the context it is being applied here. The word amnesty is granted to convicted criminal or criminals in a court of law by a chief judge or governor of the state. In other words, it is a privilege given to someone who had committed a crime against the state, it is a pardon granted to a certified criminal in law court. Here they are even saying that they have not done anything against the federal government of Nigeria rather they are saying that it is the federal government of Nigeria that needs pardon from them. Can you imagine their useless sense?
The question, I continue to ask is, are they really true Nigerians, do they believe the existence of the corporate image of Nigeria, if not why all these crazy killing they are into almost every week? If you ask me, the federal government should arrest all the prominent leaders of where the sect comes from. After all Buhari in a public atmosphere declared the north will make the country ungovernable. This statement was made during the wake of the election that brought President Jonathan into power. How can a group of people coming together in the name of religion and terrorize the nation. They will not want to sit with the government of the day to talk things over, they would not even want to be identified. The so call western education they are kicking against is the very system they are using to communicate. The internet, the video clips are they not products of the western education they are against?
Infact the federal government should be more careful to the activities of these people. All the Muslim leaders and the traditional rulers of the north should be put on scrutiny. They say a stitch in time saves nine.
Caution should be applied and not to lose focus of what it promisd the Nigerian populace because it appears that they do not have anything good for the corporate existence of Nigeria as a nation. How could one particular group of people or sect take the Nigeria for a ride for so long.
But it is a pity that the security agencies too could not get these people arrested, it means that the security situation of Nigeria is questionable to a large extend. These people kill and bomb churches at will without being caught by the nation security agencies. This is shameful to the country’s image outside. It simply send a negative message to the international community that there is no security in Nigeria. This is bad.
If the federal government could not stop Boko Haram from further killing it may amount to other part of the country reacting to cause war. This will not be good for Nigeria that is the more reason the federal government should without wasting time stop the Boko Haram sect before the country runs into chaos or is the federal government telling the people of Nigeria that it could not take care of the faceless Boko Haram, and want the rest of the country to find solution to end the insurgency of Boko Haram? Let us pray that it does not come to that or is the north behind the activities of Boko Haram? The Babangidas and the Buharis could they not talk to their people to stop their baseless killing. Are they not in charge of their people.
Activist: Life is too short for one to accommodate some nuisance in the society. The federal republic of Nigeria should define the meaning of security and tell Nigerians what it is doing about the case of Boko Haram.
Boko Haram or whatever they call themselves is not above the nation and cannot be stronger than the whole nation. What is the federal government doing to put a stop to all the killings of Boko Haram. And why should the Jonathan led federal government of Nigeria grant amnesty to the shameless Boko Haram? A people who claimed to have done nothing against the nation inspite of their endless killing of innocent souls in the north.
Well, it is themselves they are depopulating, maybe that is the reason the federal government is not taking the whole thing so serious. It is a pity that Boko Haram has come out to prove that Nigeria has no security. In action they are telling the international community that Nigeria has not security agencies. A group of people will just get up and start doing the nation as if they are playing themselves, without being afraid of the might of a nation.
Student: President Jonathan should be prayerful that Nigeria should not disunite under his leadership. I can sense only one thing here, the north is not happy that President Jonathan is the president of Nigeria. If not why didn’t they come out to do what they are doing when their kinsmen were in power and helm of affairs in this country?
They have tried time without number to Islamized Nigeria at various times without success. Nigeria is not for the north alone, every component of Nigeria is important, a careful look reveals that the south is sustaining Nigeria. If they are not happy that a man from the southern part of Nigeria is the president of the country, are they saying that the leadership of this country is meant for the north alone?
Goodluck Jonathan comes from the area that produces Nigeria richest oil which is the main stay of Nigeria’s economy. If Boko Haram has conscience, they should be happy that for the first time the southerner has been considered to be on the drilling seat, after many years.
Market Woman: What Boko Haram is doing is bad belly. Whatever they have in mind God has done his miracle and there is nothing they can do. The same God that gives the oil to Nigeria through the Niger Delta has decided and there is nothing Boko Haram could do. If they like let them kill themselves, it is themselves that they are depopulating, and the whole world is seeing their dirty minds. The people who are behind the dirty plans of Boko Haram is known by God.
President Jonathan is God’s hand work, and not man. Anyone fighting Jonathan is fighting God. God bless Nigeria.
But President Jonathan should be more spiritual to allow God see him through in all these nonsense. God made him Jonathan the president of Nigeria and will be out there to provide him all what it takes to be at the helm of affairs.
Comforter: The Nigeria man is funny and difficult to understand. What he is not in control of, he will always want to control. What sin has President Jonathan committed.
