The Andoni Chiefs council, ACC, the highest traditional institution in Andoni Local Government Area had on last weekend, Sunday 14th April, 2013 conferred a title of “Utoon Obolo 1 of Andoni” on comrade Anthony Emmanuel Ntedeng, of the maritime Union Workers of Nigeria.
Comrade Anthony Emmanuel Ntedeng is the incumbent President General, Maritime Union Workers of Nigeria, and President of Nted Foundation.
The ACC after a painstaking assessment of the activities of the Unionist within Andoni in general and Agwut-Obolo in particular decided to honour him with a traditional title of “Utoon-Obolo 1 of Andoni, a title that ushers comrade Tony as fondly called into the Andoni traditional institution.
The philanthropist has carried out a number of internationally satisfied People’s Oriented projects in Agwut-obolo community as well provided employment for well over 100 hundred youths via the Intels limited base in Onne, Rivers State.
Projects embarked upon by the philanthropist includes, building of 12 classroom blocks with facilities, portable drinking water (bore-holes), 2 units of scientifically approved brides of 115 meters and 85 meters respectively, a two thousand capacity worship auditorium, technical education centre, landing jetty etc. in Agwut-Obolo.
Agwut-Obolo could be recalled, is the traditional headquarters of Andoni (Obolo) nationality. Performing the installation ceremony alongside other traditional rulers of Andoni, the chairman of Andoni chiefs council, ACC Chief (Dr.) Silas Eneyo had charged Comrade Tony to keep up his spirit of magnanimity for the betterment of Obolo kingdom assuring him of entire Obolo People’s support and prayers.
The chairman of ACC, maintained that developing Agwut-Obolo is developing the entire Obolo but called on him to extend his good gestures to other areas as God blesses him.
The philanthropist is now known as Chief (Comrade) Anthony Emmanuel Ntedeng, Utoon-Obolo 1 of Andoni. ###
