Former Super Eagles Coach Samson Siasia has been appointed Bayelsa State Soccer Academy Director.
The appointment was made public after brainstorming on who could best occupies that position.
The screening panel arrived at Siasia in that he is an indigene of the state, exposed and has the required knowledge to manage the hope of Bayelsa State soccer.
Siasia had accepted the appointment and pledged to give the job his best, which according to him he will use to turn out world class soccer ambassadors for the state.
Siasia after losing his position as the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles had not coached any country or clubside either in Nigeria or Europe, though he has been approached by Kenya and India to thinker their country national soccer teams.
Unconfirmed report has it that the Nigeria Football Federation technical committee is considering contracting Siasia to handle the U-23 Olympics Male Team.
While that is in the offing Bayelsa State in a fast move appointed Siasia to take charge of the state soccer Academy as its director. The job of Academy director is more of concentration and commitment, could Siasia combine the two challenging jobs at the same time, if result is what both employers are expecting?
However, it has not been made public whether Siasia has been approached for the job, but soccer pundits are of the opinion that Siasia is the ideal candidate to coach the country’s U-23 Olympic team, having been there with exemplary records.
It would be recalled that Siasia was a silver medalist in the same competition when he led the U-23 team to play the final in the Olympics. ###
