MEMP Launches Campaign Against Pipeline Vandalism

A group known as the Maritime and Energy Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MEMP) has flagged off its campaign against oil theft and pipeline vandalization in Niger Delta.

This is contained in a press statement issued by the body and signed by its National President, Bishop (Dr.) Raph John, the Secretary, Mr. Golden Onyema and Mr. Martins Giadom.

The statement condemned in its entirety the incessant vandalization of oil pipelines  in the region, which it said if not checked could plunge the nations economy into mess.

MEMP is of the opinion that the only way to check this ugly trend is to embark on vigorous enlightenment campaign to educate the populace, especially the youths on the dangers inherent in pipeline vandalism and oil theft.

It further warned youths and all stakeholders of the dangers associated with such evil act, noting that ignorance is not an excuse under the law. ###
