Chairman Emohua LGA Commends Nigerian Police For Crime Reduction

The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief (Hon) Allen E.L. Nma, has commended the Nigeria Police, particularly the two DPOs of Rumuiji and Egbeda Divisions for their role in ensuring that crime are drastically reduced in the L G A. Hon. Nma made the commendation at the Council Headquarters when the Ahoada Area Commander, ACP, Mike Okoli paid him a courtesy visit. He said the two Police Divisions under his jurisdiction have discharged their duties creditably.

The Council boss described the Area Commander as a man with great professional skills, and energetic who could conveniently bring his expertise knowledge to bear. He stressed that the security of lives and properties are paramount to him and drew the attention of the Area Commander to the utilization of the Police Station opposite the Emohua Ultra Modern Market, which is aimed at protecting the market from intruders.

Hon Nma also declared his interest to build a new Police Station at Egbeda, adding that the detainees who are sometimes transferred to Omoku Police Station calls for such Police post. He advised the Commander to get Police briefing from him o on security matters often. Earlier the Area Commander, ACP. Mike Okoli said his visit was a familiarization tour to Rumuiji Division.

ACP Okoli disclosed that the tour was aimed at delivering lectures to officers on ethics of the profession, assessment of general performances of police officers, their welfare and the dissemination of information from the Inspector General of Police I.G. among other. The Area Commander used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Chairman for donating two security vehicles to the two Divisions and assured him of proper patrol of the area.        He enjoined the Council boss to ensure that genuine information is filtered to the police as well as distress calls to assist the police perform its duty. He emphasized on the structure of cordial relationship between the police and the people of the area.###
