Obio/Akpor Allstars International Football Club is one social recreational football club amongst the social recreational football clubs in Nigeria that has come of age.
Our sport desk fortnight ago had an encounter with the club when it beats their Delta Allstars counterpart in a friendly returned leg match at Akpor Grammar School.
Speaking to The Newswriter Sports, Technical Adviser of the club, Stanley Eguma said, the essence of joining Obio/Akpor Allstars is to exercise for health and ensure that every member of the club meets up his expectation in life, physically and mentally. He disclosed that the club has helped members check their stressful lives. He maintained that maintaining their health is something that the club has achieved for all members, calling on retired footballers and those who like social life to be part of the club, for it had social and health benefit they would derive from Obio/Akpor Allstars International football Club, adding that it is an international club.
Chairman of the club, Chief Rowland Amewhule, disclosed that since joining Obio/Akpor Allstars International Football club his enjoy knows no bound, as he keeps growing younger and healthy.
Stressing that apart from enjoying good health by training with the club every Saturday, the unity and assistance rendered to members of the club is something he could not comprehend. He said that in Obio/Akpor International Allstars Football Club every member enjoys equal treatment as the club operates on equal right policy.
Calling on those who have no friends and are sorrowful to join Obio/Akpor International Allstars to free themselves from sorrow and stress. One of the ardent faithful member of the club, Felix Olisa on his part disclosed to the Newswriter Sports that apart from enjoying material benefits he had also enjoyed physical football, saying that in Obio/Akpor International Allstars, to enjoyment huge benefit are unlimited.
The pastor of the club, Pastor Chuks Michael said that apart from enjoying good health and friendship with love, he so much like the fact that he admonishes members of the club every Saturday.
He also reveal that the opportunity of socializing among the members is something he never jokes with.
According to him, he hardly sleeps when it is Saturday because he hates to play second half of the training. Pastor Michael further said, he used the medium to preach the word of God and commend, the members for always wanting to hear the word of God before training, urging members of the public to join Obio/Akpor International Allstars football, a place where love and the word of God is taken seriously. Pointing out that Obio/Akpor International Allstars is characterized with social and lovely attitude.
Lexy Chinda, a member of Obio/Akpor International Allstars football club simply summarized by saying that Obio/Akpor All- stars is a place of love and unity where stress and health benefit is guaranteed, urging others to join the club. ###
