2015: Royal Father Predicts Jonathan’s Presidency

Contrary to most Nigerian opinions, especially the northerners and Alhaji Asari Dokubo the leader of the defunct Niger Delta Volunteer Force that President Goodluck Jonathan cannot be president in 2015, a prominent Chief in Rivers State His Royal Highness Chief Owabie Tobin, the Eze Onumini I of Port Harcourt City LGA said Dr. Jonathan will be president in 2015.

In a chat with The Newswriter in Port Harcourt, Chief Tobin who recalled several comments made by the Northerners and some Nigerians, including Alhaji Asari Dokubo a Niger Delta son that the incumbent president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria cannot be re-elected in 2015, he said God has ordained President Jonathan to retain in the mantle of leadership as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria in 2015 to complete his two terms tenure in office.

He urged people of the South South zone not to kick against Dr. Jonathan’s Presidential ambition if he formally declares, rather should support him to be re-elected in 2015.

On the speculation that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was merged with Governor Sule Lamido as president and vice president to contest the 2015 presidential election, the Royal Father who doubted the rumour, however said if it is true that governor Amaechi was nursing the vice president ambition in 2015, he should withdraw from such ambition and allow Jonathan to continue in his office, assuring him (Amaechi) that the people of the Rivers East Senatorial District are prepared to vote for him as senator in 2015 senatorial election, if he is so desirous of that as speculated.

The Eze Onumini noted that governor Amaechi and president Jonathan are brothers who came from the same zone urged them to work as a team and should not allow enemies to distract them, rather should support each other to achieve their desired ambitions as to move South South zone forward.

On the assessments of governor Amaechi second tenure in office he commended governor Amaechi for his developmental strides across the 23 LGAs of Rivers State, describing him as a hard working governor who had made the people of the state proud.

Chief Tobin who recalled governor Amaechi’s comment during a town hall meeting in PHALGA that he has paid contractors to execute projects in the state, urged him to compel the contractors to complete their projects before the raining season.

On the presidential pardon granted to former governor of Bayelsa, Dieperiye Alamiesyeigha, Chief Tobin who supported president Jonathan in his action recalled how Chief Odumegu Ojukwu, Omaru Dukor and other Nigerians had committed crimes and flew outside the country and were later granted pardon by the then President Alhaji Shehu Shagari, adding that granting of pardon to anyone who committed offence in the past by the president is a constitutional matter in which only a president should have the right or prerogative of mercy to pardon anybody, saying that such should not cause commotion in the nation. ###
