The secretary and South South Coordinator of African Youth Sports Federation (AYSOF) of Senate president David Mark U-20 male and female soccer cup competition Coach Wilson Whyte has called on the youths of the Niger Delta to embrace the forthcoming competition as it is meant to bring peace and exposure of their talents.
Coach Whyte made the call while speaking with The Newswriter sport on Tuesday 19th day of March on the forthcoming senate president, David Mark U-20 boys and girls’ soccer competition on the 30th of March at Liberation Stadium.
According to the football technocrat and administrator, there is no way the youths could be neglected when they have talents, noting that they are well focused with their talents, and on exposure he said the youths need it, hence his organization is out to fish out soccer talents from all parts of Niger Delta for exposure.
He said apart from soccer, his organization is sports-oriented and as such, all known sports in the land will be encouraged for the youths to excel.
“Every youth that is talented in one of the other sport will be carried along because the essence of this sports organization being in existence is to help youths with sports talents to make a living with their God-given natural talents in sports,” he said.
Stressing further, he said when the youths have the talent without someone discovering them; they might venture into negativity, which will not help the society, noting that it was because the youths were not given their pride of place that peace had eluded the society. He maintained that his sports organization has come out to take the social vices off the youths away by creating enabling sports programmes for both male and female, positing out that there is no way that a youth with talent will be engaged in meaningful act that both the youth and the society will not strike a positive balance. ###
