2013 Mothers Day, A thought For Mothers

Nigeria Women have joined their counterparts worldwide to celebrate mothering Sunday on March 10, 2013.

In Eleme the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Nchia celebrated the day with thought provoking theme, “The Resourceful Mother” taken from the book of Exodus chapter 2 verse 3 where Moses was adequately protected from the massive killing of male children that was the order of the day.

Speaking to newsmen the Chairperson of the planning committee, Lady Patience Saloka and the Vice President mothers’ union, Mrs. Grace O. Omosiomi, JP in their different views said the theme illustrates how Moses’ mother shown motherhood by protecting her son at the time.

They said that mothers should train their children in the way they should go so that they will not go wayward for the society to be better, appealing for mothers to go on their knees to God for the restoration of the ill-behaved children.

They also advised women to be submissive to their husbands and that women should not relent in their role of keeping the home.

They further charged mothers who are working class to wake up early and prepare things for the family and never to allow house help take frontline position in the home to avoid any unfortunate happenings in the home.

Meanwhile, the Diocesan President, Mrs. Beatrice G. Kattey, JP, had opined that working class mothers should consider the type of job that will make them to watch over the home and tasked mothers to stop violence attitude of attacking persons who beat their children in course of advice so that the children will respect elders and take to instruction, adding that supporting the child when he is wrong is the easiest way to spoil him. ###
