One of the fastest growing churches in Nigeria and beyond, Omega Power Ministry (OPM), has thrown citizens of Rivers State into what observers and beneficiaries described as “major positive confussion” hard to believe that the church has established free institutions of learning from nursery to secondary schools; free restaurant and free boutique for citizens of the state. The free education is for children of less-privilege in society.
According to the General Overseer of OPM, Apostle (Dr.) Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, those who are well to do cannot send their children to OPM schools. “The school is mainly for those who cannot afford sending their children to public or private schools”.
A beneficiary of the gesture whose children are currently attending the OPM School in a testimony during the church service, while narrating his ordeal said he was reluctant to have sent his children to OPM School, judging from his experiences in the public/private schools. But thankgod for their admission and subsequent resumption of academic activities without paying a kobo.
Meanwhile, OPM has established a free restaurant opposite Rukpoku International Market in Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State.
The Restaurant is said to be established to meet the daily needs of the people, especially those who cannot afford their daily meals.
We gathered that the establishment of the restaurant was informed by an encounter, the OPM general Overseer Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere had in a restaurant in Rivers State where a woman walked in, to gather the crumbs and left over of foods in the restaurant.
When management of the restaurant interrogated the woman she said she had nothing for her family hence the crumbs to feed her family.
The woman’s plight was said to have moved the OPM G.O to immediately set up the restaurant for the general public, with the aim of assisting the people to live above poverty line.###
