Keshi Eyes 50 Nigeria Players

Chief Coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi said he has beamed his searchlight around the world to fish out fifty performing Nigerian players.

According to Keshi, “it has become clear to me that Nigerian players are spread across the globe and as a father I will call home any Nigerian player that is at the top of his game”. Keshi said, that right now, he has fifty performing players he is particularly eyeing, hoping to see them be part of the Eagles redemption story.

Showing his fatherly concern to some of the players that were invited and later dropped, the big boss, as he was fondly called, said he had not shut the door against any sound Nigerian player in anywhere in the world, stating that he had always believed in the quality of the home based players in the domestic league.

He pointed out that all Nigerians saw what home based Sunday Mba did in the finals of the 29th Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

“Managing our victory in the AFCON is something that I am still struggling with and again more challenge had cropped up into the whole thing.

The president had given me the mandate to qualify the Super Eagles to the 2014 Brazil World Cup, this simply means that all Nigerian players doing well in any part of the globe should be in the redemption story of the Eagles history.

Players like Shola Ameobi, Joel Obi, Obafemi Martins and others are still part of my Eagles redemption story. This does not mean that the home based eagles are forgotten, of course, they will always be part of the Eagles rebuilding process, “emotional Keshi revealed. ####
