The International Institute of journalism (IIJ) the training wing of NUJ said it has concluded arrangement to hold its 5th annual lecture series and matriculation in Port Harcourt.
According to a press statement issued by the coordinator of studies of the Institute, Mr. Ibituru Pepple and signed by Elfredah Imbu, the two programmes will take place at the ministry of Justice conference Hall, state secretariat and Girls Guide compound, Forces Avenue, Opposite, SOS Port Harcourt on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March, 2013 at 10am respectively.
The statement further indicated that guest speakers at the lecture will be Dr. Idumange John Green, Senior Special Advisor, media to governor of Bayelsa State and Rev. Fr. Walter C. Ihejinka, Head linguistic and communicating studies, University of Port Harcourt.
The lecture with its theme “Journalism practice and the constitutional Demands on journalists: An x-ray of FOI Act”, is organized by the international Institute of journalism and the Bayelsa New media team for journalists and journalism students. The aim the statement said is to effectively position the Nigeria journalists to face the challenges posed by the practice in sub-Saharan Africa. ###
