I Don’t Know Why Jonathan Neglects Those Who Love Him

Bishop( Dr) Friday Nwator has lamented what he called utter neglect of  those who he said worked and prayed for the enthronement of Dr Goodluck Jonathan as the President of Nigeria, including himself.

Bishop Nwator who is the Founder of House of Peace Ministries and the President of Integrity & Faithful Ministers Network Worldwide stated this in an exclusive interview with The Newswriter in Port Harcourt. According to him, he was the first Niger Delta son to declare that unless Jonathan becomes the president of Nigeria, there will be no 2011. Nwator also said that he was instrumental to the declaration of amnesty for Niger Delta militants that brought peace to the entire country today. He recalled how he was travelling to the creeks with foodstuffs to feed over 2,000 militants under very dangerous atmosphere, just to save the lives of Niger Delta youths.

According to the Clergyman, who said he has been a medical doctor for 44 years and a bishop for 11 years, President Jonathan has refused to appreciate his efforts by either honouring him or at least recognizing his efforts. The Bishop said he was more worried when he realized that the President has surrounded himself with  Aides who tell him what he wants to hear, which in most cases are lies.

Asked what and where he thinks he can function in the administration of the President, the 72 year old doctor said he does not want to run around as a minister, but would prefer to head a think -tank team to advise the president and direct him aright.

Throwing more light on his contributions to the wellbeing of Niger Delta and Nigeria at large, Nwator said apart from proposing the amnesty, he initiated the establishment of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The man of God also said he once led a high powered delegation to the National Assembly to discuss the development of the Niger Delta, as well as represented Gokana/Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo at the Constituent Assembly all for the welfare of his people (the Niger Deltans). Nwator  said he  wonders why he should be shaved aside now that  Jonathan, a Niger Delta son has become  the president of Nigeria. The Clergyman said he therefore appeals to President Jonathan to change his style of his leadership for the interest all, especially those that worked for him.##
