Rivers New CP Justifies N20 Bribe To Police

The new Rivers State Commissioner of Police, (CP) Mbu Joseph Mbu has spoken in favour of N20 collected by policemen on the road.

Addressing the media recently while taking over the baton of leadership from the out gone Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Indabawa at the Police headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, the CP said the press should not report when they see a policeman collecting N20 while doing his work on the road.

His reasons are that, the police officers sleep in vehicles just to protect lives and property of the citizenry.

The new CP said he was not happy that press had never reported good things about the Nigeria police; rather, they take delight in reporting negative issues about the police force.

He advised that the press should not report only bad things about the Nigeria police that they should rather resort to writing good things about the Nigeria police force.

Mr. Mbu maintained that discipline is going to be his watch word as he takes over the mantle of the Nigeria police leadership from CP Mohammed Indabawa. ###
