The duo of Nigeria born Shola Ameobi and Danny Shittu may be considered to strengthen the Super Eagles defence and attack where injury case is recorded among the already established players of the team that lifted the 29th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Keshi is said to be in a dilemma over some of the established stars who did not take part in the Super Eagles South Africa Nations cup competition.
Most preferably to join the Eagles squad for the preparation of the world cup qualifiers are Danny Shittu and Shola Ameobi.
The Super Eagles are up to task with Harambee Stars of Kenya, come March 23 in Calabar for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking to the press, Keshi said players like Osaze Odemwinge, Taye Taiwo, Obafemi Martins, Obinna Nsofor, among others could have to wait at least for now as Keshi was quoted as saying he would not want to distract the concentration of the players that won the nations cup with him.
However, players like Danny Shittu and Shola Ameobi may join the squad if there is a case of injury along the line in the Eagles preparation to the world qualifiers, Keshi said.
Keshi said there is unity amongst the players, therefore; it will be counter productive at this time to invite new players after the players that played the Nations cup had won the cup for the nation after 19 years the cup eluded Nigeria. ###
