R/S: CIEPD Organizes Training for Councillors In Three LGAs

The Executive Director of Enhanced Peace and Development (CIEPD) Mrs. Egondu Ezinwoke Ogbalor stated that CIEPD is all about good governance, participatory governance, and conflict management.

She stated this in an interview with the media at a two day training of councilors from some selected local govt areas in the state. Mrs. Egondu said, that the main target of the organization is to bring councilors together, have words with them on issues concerning their local areas and work in their various communities.

The Executive, Director noted that the organization has been visiting some community groups, teaching them on good governance and what its all about. The selected LGAs in the state are Abua/Odual, Oyigbo and Port Harcourt City, where the group has been meeting with them on advocacy. She also said that the organization is like a platform to bring the councilors together and also interact with them on relevant issues that will help them to relate well in their various communities as elected officers in their wards.

Councilor representing Port Harcourt City Local Government Area (PHALGA) Ward 19, Hon. Ambassador Christiana Ebidede said that the two day training she has had from CIEPD will help her in most things she does, adding that it will go along way even in her position as a councilor to build her community in the area of organizing town hall meetings, seminars where people will air their views, because her main priority is to work for the well being of the people. ###
