Dr. Ugorji Set For Consecration … Bishop is Not A Do Or Die Affair

Rev. Dr. Julius Ugorgi, Bishop elect of the International Pastoral Assembly of Africa and the General Overseer of the Kings Household International Church said his church is prepared, willing and ready for the consecration that will take place by next month at the church auditorium in Eleme, Rivers State. Bishop Ugorji droped the hint in an interview with journalist in Eleme recently.

The General Overseer, confirmed that those that will perform the consecration are from the International Pastoral Assembly of Africa ready to visit Port Harcourt for the ceremony.

Asked whether those coming for the consecration are authentic to perform such a huge task, the bishop elect explained that colleges of Bishop differ even in Nigeria and outside the country, saying the Act of consecration are only done by the college authority, noting that he belongs to the International Pastoral Assembly of Africa where he has received training, prayers and advice on the task before him.

He further stated that consecration depend on the college a member affiliates or belongs to and that International Pastoral Assembly of Africa is headed by a reputable Bishop, Arch. Bishop Raymond Christ based in the Republic of Cameroon while the Africa Bishop is Bishop Albert Eze based in Onitsha, adding that the group is registered college by Ministry of Internal Affairs and that their college has a well articulated procedure.

The General Overseer of the Kings Household Assembly International Church said that some of the procedures are that you must be chosen by the church; you must be selected by the college and there must be publication in some of the National dailies, while police clearance will also be obtained and the name of the person will be gazette with Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On why it takes long time before the consecration, the calm man of God stated that the position of a Bishop is not for those in a hurry, adding that he has taken his time a understudy a lot of things. He said Bishops are not for babies in the Lord who are still learning or those who are pre-mature but those who are fathers with experience rule and lead people to God as the bible have also is also stated the qualities of a bishop which is also of a mature mind.

The man of God stated that the position of a bishop can be better explained with those who rushed into marriage noting that those who rushed to marry can never understand properly what it takes and they will fall by the wayside. “If you are not mature, you marry immature women.

“I am married with three children; I have taken my time,” but not wasted time the Bishop said.

On the issue of controversy over the consecration of women Bishops nowadays, the Bishop elect maintained the Jesus did not discriminate between men and women; noting that he supports women consecration.

He told the press that he was one of the foundation members of PFN, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in 1986, noting that he single-handedly brought PFN to Eleme LGA, and was their chairman for 8 years.

On organizing crusade in Eleme, the Bishop said they used to organized crusade in the name of PFN, when he was the chairman of PFN Eleme branch but stated that in a group, one cannot satisfy everybody hence, some people are bound to complain because methodology is no the same. He said he started the church in his parlour some years ago and he bought the land with the first amount of N10,000 naira.

Also speaking, the chairman, Bishop Ugorji consecration committee, Mr. Samuel Uebari, used the occasion to invite the governor of River State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, Governor Rochas Okorocha, Commissioners, the chairman of Eleme LGA, Chief Ngota, clergymen, pastors, men of God, academicians, people from all walks of life to come and honour the bishop. ###
