Mr. Michael Onyoghasim the manager of Skye Bank PLC was among the 149 graduands of the University of Port Harcourt who were conferred with doctorate degree, at the 29th convocation ceremony of the institution last weekend.
In a chat with journalists shortly after the award, Mr. Onyoghasim who bagged PHD degree in Economics expressed gratitude to God for enabling him complete the programme which he said he started since 2008.
According to him, his challenge during the study was that he had combined his banking business with his studies. “I transport from Port Harcourt to Uniport Choba almost everyday”, he said expressing delight that God had changed his status for making him obtain his PHD degree successfully.
Mr. Enyoghasim who said he specialized in monitoring economics, said he was able to achieve this feat due to the well equipped library of the institution.
Asked what he will do with the knowledge he acquired, Mr. Onyoghasim said he will start with part time lecturing and later switch to full time, promising to impart his knowledge to the younger generation.
The manager of Skye bank noted that the secret of his success was focus and determination. He advised students to always be focused, have determination in whatever they do, as well as have trust in God to achieve their desire. ###
