Pepsi Supports Eagles With Campus 1 Day Competition

Pepsi Soft Drink Company before the Eagles road to victory has supported the Super Eagle with a one day football competition in some of Nigeria’s selected Universities to support the Super Eagles to lift the AFCON trophy.

In Rivers State University of Port Harcourt,  (RSUST), the one day competition had 16 teams named after the 16 participating countries of the Nations Cup, where Ivory Coast won the trophy in the final match, Ivory Coast plying Togo final score, Ivory Coast highest goal scorer, Oba Onyije, best player and most valuable player all went home with N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) each with a trophy each.

The price of the first position tagged at N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand naira) second position N50,000 (fifty thousand naira) third place N30,000 (thirty Thousand naira) and fourth place N20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira).

Coach of the institution football learn, Cyril Levi said the once day support the Super Eagle fun fule-A-side tournament has afford the institution to discover more fresh soccer talent even as the tournament was successful.

Speaking to our sports desk representative of the organizers revealed that it is the brand special way of supporting the Eagles to lift the AFCON trophy.

Speaking further he said, it is the belief of the soft drink company to create opportunity soccer talents in the university system as to be discovered while having fun.

He also said that, for the schools, the talents discovered is an added advantage to their NULGA games, pointing out that Mikel Obi, Joseph Yobo was discovered by the brand, saying that he wish the players discovered the best of soccer in the future. ###
