PHALGA Deputy Mayor’s Drives To Develop Amadi-Ama is Immeasurable – Koko

Barely two years of Nancy Stephen’s administration as Deputy Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, particularly Constituency II, a political analyst has described the improvement in development at Amadi-Ama community as the best compared to when Hon. Mrs. Irene Inimgba was the only politician steering the ship in the area.
“It is very good that God Almighty has decided to change the hand of the clock using the highly spirited drives of Nancy Stephen, Deputy Mayor, PHALGA in developing Amadi-Ama, because the situation was nothing to talk about during the Hon. Mrs. Irene Inimgba two tenures as member, Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Assembly member right as we speak cannot boast of anything that has been put on ground as regards development both in human capacity building and or infrastructure in Amadi-Ama community.
Speaking to pressmen in Port Harcourt recently, Mr. Odiye G. Koko, chairman, Port Harcourt Constituency II project, a socio-political organization whose duty includes assessing and evaluating performance of politicians in PHALGA said it was a pity that some politicians from the area who have nothing to show for their tenure, have published frivolous and baseless stories against performing ones in the area.
According to Mr. Koko, “of the truth many people, especially youths of Amadi-Ama community have decided to support Nancy Stephen during the last general election due to the developmental character people discovered in her that posed a lot of political threat to Hon. Mrs. Inimgba”. Koko said the youths of the area have long been looking for people like Nancy Stephen whose political drives appear to augur well with the developmental spirit of the people than that of the member representing Constituency II PHALGA “because we were, before now” looking for the person who will take us to the promised land”.
Mr. Koko emphasized that the political class in Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole should disregard whatever publication purported to have tarnished the image of Nancy Stephen sponsored by a non performing politicians, like Hon. Mrs. Inimgba whose number of years as a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly has not impacted on the lives of the people of Amadi-Ama community in any way. Today’s politics, he said, “demands that people are bound to support only a performing politician no matter the position such person holds and the people have said Nancy Stephen, Deputy Mayor, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area is their political goal getter, non performing politicians, who may resort to publishing anything just like what Hon. Mrs. Inimgba has done is only driving home her political individualistic aim and not representing the minds of the people of Amadi-Ama community”.
Mr. Koko stressed that there is peace, love and unity amongst the people of Amadi-Ama community, therefore Rivers people should ask the member representing the area from what angle the restiveness and crisis are coming from in the community.
He therefore urged both Rivers State government and security agents to put surveillance on the member, Rivers State House of Assembly representing PHALGA Constituency II “because her statement in one of the local tabloids is capable of thwarting the relative peace and unity that the people are enjoying in the area”.
Mr. Koko pointed out that it was unfortunate, that Mrs. Inimgba was claiming to be the political leader of the area with mandate of the people. “It is also factual that the House of Assembly member’s high handedness is driving people away from her, but she is itching to force people to her political camp in the community, but one thing we as youths from the area will not fail to do is to watch her activities with eagle eyes; should there be any atom of crisis in the area, we shall not fail to ask Hon. Mrs. Irene Inimgba question because she has all us to monitor her directly”, he said. ###
