The Etche Ethnic Youth Council, the apex umbrella organization of all Etche youths both at home and in the diaspora, has restated its readiness to address the problems and challenges being faced by youths in the area.
The group made the promise in a press statement issued in Port Harcourt and made available to The Newswriter.
In the statement, which was jointly signed by its President General, Hon. Justice Anurume Ozioma, Publicity Secretary Odum Iyke and Secretary-General, Anthony Onyema, the Etche Ethnic Youth Council, noted that it was borne out of the zeal to rewrite the history of Etche youths, with the hope of bringing awareness, peace, unity and progress in the area. The statement also indicated that their proposed pre-youth summit hold on 9th Feb to 23rd Feb, 2013, while condemning the backbiting and unconstructive criticism of their leaders by detractors.
“In the same vein, “will condemn every act of backbiting, acrimony and unconstructive criticism of our leaders via facebook, telephone call/messages, newspapers, etc and therefore laud our elected leaders on their various developmental strides, and express our concern on the positive measures employed by the Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Reginald Ukwuoma on the choice of the most needful and good position for Etche LGA by the dedication of Etche land to God on the 25th January, 2013”, the statement noted.
The Etche Ethnic Youth Council also expressed sympathy with Nihi community over the death of Chief Hon. Barr. S. O. Nwogu, JP, the Ogbuogaa 1 of Nihi Land. ###
