The Obio/Akpor Local Government Council Chairman Hon. Timothy Nsirim has declared to his people his second name is market.
This the council declared in a town Hall meeting with the people at the council headquarter, Rumudomanya on Friday January 17th, 2013 said that the greatest legacy he has put on ground since his inception in office and legacy he will be remembered for when left office is market.
Hon. Nsirim pointed out that he made sure that every word in the LGA has market except ward 3 and assured the people that any community having space of land and decide to use the land for market should approach him and it will be done instantly.
Hon. Timothy Nsirim who frown at street trading said that street trading is a crime in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area advised that those practicing street trading should stop as anyone violating this shall be arrested, prosecuted and jail.
This the council boss said will be taken with drastic measure as there ate available market in place, urging traders to trade in the market and be free from the anger that is about to fall on defaulters.
Nsirim at the same time called on indigenes and foreigners in Obio/Akpor to respect sanitation law, keeping their surrounding cleaning as the council will not take environmental protection for higher offence.
He warned those who play ball on the roads and in streets during state environmental sanitation day to stop it forthwith before they are trial before law.
The LGA Chief Executive direct those who want to practice football to take advantage of available fields in place every field in the governor newly build primary schools and leave the road.
He used the occasion to call on youths of the area who are making themselves revenue collector to turn from that way and to school as revenue drive will fail them but education will not fail them.
He explained that if they success when they are youth it will fail them in their old age when they can no longer go for the drive.
Stressing the hindrance for development in the area he warn traditional ruler not to interfere into council affairs as they are doing said the council pardon them for mercy sake adding that any one who is caught truncating the council decision will be penalized and frown at multiple chieftaincy crowing around. ###
