The House of Representative member representing Khana/ Gokana Constituency Hon. Maurice Pronen has assisted 100 Ogoni students in secondary school this year for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Examination.
Presenting cash price to the students at Bori Headquarters of Khana Local Government Council over the week and Hon. Pronen stated that the cash donation is the little he can assist parent to register their child this year for the examination. He was represented at the presentation ceremony by the People Democratic Party chairman of Gokana Hon. Second Bokor.
Hon. Bakor said it is the intention of the House of Representative member Hon. Maurice Pronen to assist children who are excellent in their educational activities.
Hon. Bakor told student and parents that this was part of the campaign promises made by the Hon. Member which has just began noting that Hon. Member have stayed in office for just a year now and deem it necessary to start the educational support programme for deserving students of Ogoni extraion.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion who is also the chairman of the People Democratic Party Khana Local Government Area, Hon. Eric Nwibani expressed thank for the gesture done to the students noting that Hon. Maurice Pronen always keep to his promise.
Hon. Nwibani stated that the days where politicians campaign to the people and will not fulfill are all gone, because this present politician has conscience and have a pact with the people.
The party chairman Khana described Hon. Maurice Pronen as a true son of Ogoni who is making mark within one year in office and commended selection method because it was based on intellectuality and not man-know-man, while thanking him to continue his good works as only God can actually reward him.
Responding, some of the students thanked the House of Representative member whom they said have not known him personally.
Advising on some of the student who lost out from the WAEC registration, they task their fellow students to read as to meet up the challenge next time.
The principal of community secondary K.Dere Mr. Raymond Oku responded on behave of the principal while Hon. Kpobari Kana a former councilor form ward 1 Bodo delivered the vote of thank and Hon. Tomte Bakor presented the cash award of N13,000 each to the 100 students.
If could be recall that few months ago Hon. Maurice Pronen have given over 50 women in Khana and Gokana N50,000 naira each for entrepreneurship.
He has also gone to the three wards in Bodo City in Gokana and assisted women, men and youth with N30, 000 each to start up a business.
The House of Representative member Hon. Maurice Pronen has done a medical outreach program on 27 & 29 December 2012, treating patients with Hypertension and diabetes with other health related issues of which two thousand persons benefited from the medical outreach in corroboration African Community Health Initiative, USA. ###
