The Chairman of Otari Community Development Committee (CDC), in Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Chief Lawrence Egbagiri has called on the Northern part of the country to leave President Goodluck Jonathan alone so that he could achieve his transformation agenda for Nigerians.
The outspoken Chief made this call while speaking to our correspondent penultimate week in Port Harcourt. The community leader is of the opinion that despite the challenges facing President Jonathan, he believes, President Jonathan could still achieve his transformation agenda.
Appealing to the Boko Haram campaigners to back out from their action to enable the president deliver on his set agenda for the country, he posited that when their brothers were in power, none of the Southerners created an governable environment for them rather the South supported every move made by them with all amount of sincerity.
Noting that no one could effectively deliver the dividend democracy in a situation where the environment not peaceful, Chief Egbagiri maintained that the Niger Delta, despite what is happening, should not turn their back their son, President Jonathan, noting that this is the time he needs their unalloyed loyalty and support.
He appealed to the Northern leaders to call their kith and kin to order, saying that Nigeria belongs to all and not one particular region of the country, stressing that the bulk of money with which the country is being run or sustained comes from the Niger Delta region.
He used the opportunity to commend the state chief executive on his transformation agenda in education, health and charged him to improve on human capacity development.
He further commended Hon. Odum Udi, the chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, for his transformation service scheme which has further made transformation enjoyable in the area. ###
