Rivers Local Govt Service Commission Finds Solution To Stagnation

Worried by the high level of stagnation and poor productivity in the third tier government, the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission (RSLGSC) has moved to solve the problem. In line with that, the commission has organized a 3 day training workshop for council staff from Rivers South East Senatorial District on improved productivity.
Addressing the gathering at the end of the programme, the chairman of the commission, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini said he was happy that the workshop has achieved the desired result.
Nmerukini who was represented at the event by Chief Jonah Tamuno, chairman Sub-Committee on Training said the programme was meant to end stagnation in service, thereby increasing productivity.
He assured the participants that the commission will reward those who will distinguish themselves on duty after the training.
Nmerukini lauded the participants for their comportment during the training, reminding them that to whom much is given, much is expected.
He told the gathering that the council is fully incharge of agriculture, while education and health have been taken over by the state government.
Nmerukini thanked the resource persons for a job well done.
Also speaking, Secretary to the Commission, Adonye Jumbo said by organizing the workshop, the commission has displayed enough interest in its workforce.
He challenged the participants to make maximum use of the training to better their lot.
The Consultant in Charge of the training, Dr. Okoro Okara had in his remarks thanked the commission’s chairman for the opportunity given him to serve.
He said his firm delivered 9 lectures during the programme and expressed confidence that they have been able to inculcate into the participants the need to be self-reliant.
He urged the commission to extend the training across board, pledging his company’s readiness to always partner with the commission when called upon.
Some participants expressed happiness for the training and assured the commission that they will make maximum use of the training to improve productivity. The workshop had its theme as, “Work Ethics and Organizational Productivity.
Highlight of the event was presentation of certificates to participants. ###
