Chief Mike L. Nwidobe has lauded the people of Ogoni for their impressive turn-up at the 20th Ogoni Day celebration held on Monday January 4, 2013 at Birabi Memorial Grammar School, Bori, the headquarters of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Nwidobe made the statement in his country home, Kono, advising the people on peaceful disposition and thanked the governor of Rivers State, whom he said his leadership made the peace possible. He also lauded the security agencies for up to expectation.
Nwidobe who said that the position of MOSOP President which he contested for ended inconclusively, congratulated Fortune Chujor for emerging Acting President of advising that he should see the position as God given and chance for him to serve humanity to the glory of God, especially now that the MOSOP president has not yet been elected.
Mike Nwidobe further advised that the Acting President should resolve, harmonize and unite all factions in MOSOP and Ogoni as a whole. He also told him to set up electoral body to conduct election that will produce the president, since according to him the provisional council led by Prof. Ben Naanen has failed.
He urged Prof. Ben Naanen to handover MOSOP property in his possession to the Acting President for smooth running of the office as he has ceased to be provisional council chairman on Monday January 4, 2013.
