“Amaechi Saved Rivers State From Flood”

The leader of the Hausa Community residing in Port Harcourt and its environs, Alhaji Musa Saidu has disclosed that Governor Amaechi saved Rivers State from the recent flood which would have taken over the entire state if he did not take proactive measures against it.
The Northern leader made this assertion in an interview with our correspondent during the governor’s Town Hall meeting with the people of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
According to him, being a responsible leader, the moment the governor heard of the impending flood danger from the Nigeria Metrological Agency, he went into action to curtail the danger that would have befallen the entire state. He said that this sole reason saved other parts of the state from being submerged by the flood that ravaged four Local Government Areas in the state.
He applauded the governor and described him as a caring leader. Alh. Saidu urged other state governors to emulate Amaechi to keep the one Nigeria spirit, adding that if not the high level of diplomacy the governor exhibited Nigeria would have by now disintegrated.
Saidu urged Rivers people to rally round the governor as he meants well for the state, which he said had reflected in his developmental strides all over the state.
Speaking further, he said, the governor is an open minded person that knows the feelings of the people and also ready to attend to their problems, of the people but regretted that his commissioners and protocol officers are the cause of some of the misunderstandings being experienced by Rivers people and non-indigenes, alleging that the middlemen have let the governor know the true picture of the problems facing the people.
Saidu also accused the protocol officers of refusing to allow the people meet with the governor to discuss their problems.
He used the medium to appeal to the governor to create a means for the people he governs to see him when the need arises. ###
