A seasoned sports enthusiast and a school sports product, Emmanuel Obiora has called on the present government at all level to encourage other sports to be accepted like soccer.
Obiora made this call while speaking with our sports editor penultimate weeks, at the Port Harcourt club 1928 Lawn Tennis central court hall.
According to him to achieve this, the government at the various levels should engage in school sports as to allow other sports taught like soccer. He pointed out that he is a product of school sports and could comfortably boast of varieties of sports that informed his being versatile in the sport family.
The lawn tennis and soccer exponent frown at the current trend of lovers of sports taking soccer more than other sporting event even as many youths are talented in other sporting events.
He noted that for Nigeria as a nation to be recognized as a sporting nation instead of soccer alone, the country must encourage other sporting event in the sports family.
Stressing that one sure way of achieving this is to take to school sports where all sports will be encourage as they will be taught alongside with soccer as to make all other sports to be prominent instead of soccer alone.
For his being product of school sports, Obiora Emmanuel today is a consultant of sports, as he teaches lawn tennis on radio every Thursday with 93:7 fm, Port Harcourt, from 7:35-45am on weekly basis. ###
