Lagos State the host state of the 18th National Sports Festival may finally claim the number one position of the 18th sports festival owing to certain prevailing factors. Already, she has started showing sign of making it to the first position as she is gradually stepping up from her position.
Lagos state as of the time of this write up was place third behind Rivers State leaving Delta state in the lead. This shows that as the host state, she has every diplomatic antics to manuever over to her advantage considering her preparation of hosting this particular competition.
She has equally gone round the federation in search of the best athletes as to beef up her participating team in the competition. Most of the medal winning athletes from Rivers and Bayelsa states are part of the present Lagos Eko 2012 athlete team.
No doubt, Lagos State is known for her sports prowess, ordinarily, not to talk of when she is hosting the nation. Her natural sports men and women will sweat out all the strength that gave them life. They have before winning the hosting right knows what is at stake, if they do not replicate what Rivers State did at the 17th National Sports Festival at the Garden City games in Port Harcourt.
She also said, she will do more than what Rivers State did, which means, she had taken everything into consideration before making such a challenging statement, after under studying Rivers State from the 17th National Sports Festival.
As the days progress, she is cropping gradually into a comfortable position in the medal log (table), as Rivers State faces the fear of losing her position to Lagos as the competition heats up.###
