The excellent performance of Hon. Prince Timothy Nsirim, the executive chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, has been attributed to the workers input and cooperation towards the development of the area.
Dr. Dikia M. David-West the Head of Personnel Management of the council, made the disclosure in a chat with journalists shortly after arriving from a fish farm inspection at the Obio/Akpor council headquarter, Rumuodumanya.
Dr. David-West noted that the ability of the staff working as a team, their advice and the manner in which the council chairman, Hon. Prince Timothy Nsirim listens to the advice and inputs of the workers have made him perform wonderfully in the LGA.
According to him, Prince Timothy Nsirim has a listening ear, hence he has performed so well in his administration.
The Kalabari-born HPM, who revealed he came back with his team from an inspection of fish farm built by Hon. Prince Timothy administration at Rukpoku, described the fish farm as a large farm which contained all the necessary facilities, assuring that the youths of the area will be trained in fish farming, while widows will be empowered and less-privileged trained on fish mongering which would go a long way to improve their lives.
On how much the fishes in the farm were sold, he said the amount is not less than five hundred naira N500 each except on government price where the prices are reduced to four hundred naira.
Dr. David-West, who said that the Timothy Nsirim led administration did not pay lip service to the welfare of the youths and the less privileged, noted that the present administration had ensure that it put the youths in good shape.
According to him, most youths in the area have benefited from the administration’s skills acquisition and scholarship scheme, assuring that the council will soon embark on donating vehicles to youths to help them and their families.
He advised politicians in the state to always work strictly on their manifesto by rendering service to their people based on what they promised them during their campaigns to improve their lives.
In a related development, the chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA Prince Timothy Nsirim, has commended the author of a book entitled “Local government and service delivering” in Nigeria. Barr. Ransome Richard West for a job well done. Prince Nsirim, who was represented by Dr. Dikia M. David-West, the HPM of Obio/Akpor council, described the book as a guide towards local government system of administration and urged that the ongoing constitutional amendment should be made to ensure that the LGAs have their autonomy to enhance their performances and donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira to the author. ###
