The Amaa Film Screening Team was hosted by Port Harcourt Film viewers as a ceremony of screening of some of the award winning film actors in the prestigious Amaa award. The event was made possible by multinational communication giant Airtel on Sunday 25th November, 2012, at Genesis centre, Port Harcourt.
Two films were watched by Port Harcourt film viewers for them to make their comment and criticisms as to how the films showed won the Amaa Award. Adesuwa produced by Maverick Film Producer Lancelot Odudu Amasua whose film won the 2012 Nigeria Best Film Amatu Award and South African film titled “Man On The Ground”.
Speaking to a cross section of news men, Tony Anih, executive secretary of Africa Film Academy (AFA), revealed that over the years some of his colleagues in Nollyhood have criticized Amaa that the film awarding body is partial, hence Amaa team persuaded Airtel to avail all and sundry to watch and see for themselves why the film chosen by Amaa as best film for the year is actually the best.
From what was showed to the Port Harcourt film viewing public, the film picked by Amaa as the Nigeria best film in Amatu Amaa award actually deserved its rating as was confirmed by cross section of viewers who watched the film.
Making the fifth place aiming to end the movement at Abuja. He mentioned Benin, Ibadan, Lagos, Enugu as places Amaa film screening team have visited.
