“Amaechi Has Been Unfair To Hausas, Others

The leader of the Northern Hausas Forum, Arewa Peoples Congress, Alhaji Saidu Musa has appealed to the Rivers State Governor to consider his northern friends, (the Hausas) in his political appointments in the state.
The Northern leader in the state, stated that the governor is not fair to the Hausas in appointment into his cabinet, citing an example of the governor appointing a Deltan as Commissioner in his cabinet, but the Hausas have nobody representing them in the governor’s cabinet, saying that this is unfair to the Hausas who voted the governor warmly during the April Guber pools.
However, Alhaji Saidu hinted that the Hausas applaud the governor appointing non indigenes into his cabinet but regretted the Hausas were not represented in this noble gesture.
He stressed that no tribe voted the governor more than the Hausas. According to him, if the governor wants to encourage the Hausas in the state, there are many segments of government to consider like heading one of the agencies in the state. He opined that the Hausas have been in Rivers State doing business peacefully, boasting that the Hausas have faithfully contributed their quota in the state development and wondered why they should not be treated kindly.
Alhaji Saidu made all this assertion during government Amaechi’s Town Hall meeting with the people of PHALGA in Port Harcourt. In an interview with newsmen, however confirmed that the governor is hard working man, commending him for his developmental strides within the time he has been in power.
He noted that it will be unfair for anybody in the state to ask whether his working, as his good works is seen all over the state.
In the same vein, a group known as indigenes without borders has also taken a swipe on the governor, describing his leadership style as that excluding non-indigenes.
This was stated by the Spokesman of the Group, Alhaji Bola Adebayo who accused Amaechi of marginalizing non-indigenes even when christened the people ‘Indigenes Without Borders on assumption of office.
The Women Leader said the governor’s utterance that non-indigenes have equal rights in the state are mere rhetoric and different from what is on ground.
According to Alhaji Adebayo since most of them are born and bred in Rivers State, there is supported to be no discrimination in the scheme of things.
Adding his voice to the issue, chief Promise Sidney, the Gerebu VII of Abuloma Kingdom alleged that Abuloma people are also being marginalized in the scheme of things in PHALGA. According to him Port Harcourt council of chiefs have been working without Abuloma chief, resulting the people being denied of a lot of things. Chief Sidney made his views known in a chat with journalists during the Town Hall meeting of Gov. Amaechi at PHALGA last Monday.
The Royal Father urged the Port Harcourt chiefs to have a rethink, insisting that the activity of the council is incomplete with Abuloma chiefs. ####
