Ikpoki Wins One Day Ngeri Abere Golf Tournament

Captain Ngeri Abere one day Golf tournament has come and gone with Adokiye Ikpoki emerging champion of the one day explosive golf tournament played at Port Harcourt golf club 1928.
Speaking to express his happiness of winning the one day tournament, elated Ikpoki was full of smile as he thanked the sponsor of the tournament and all those that has encouraged him to play the game of golf.
On his part, captain Ngeri Abere, the sponsor of the tournament, used the occasion to harmonize with his associates and friends as he thanked them and asked for their pardon where he might be misunderstood in the course of running the Port Harcourt club golf section 1928 as the captain of the section.
He also used the occasion to recognize all those who had supported him in one way or the other as he gave out plagues in their names reflected on the plaques.
Grand and other corporate partners also put spices on the one day tournament as they supported the captain of the golf section in his day. Drink were supplied to all and sundry while Somitel Hotels. Captain Ngeri Abere own hotel supplied the foods in the ceremony.
Both winners and participates went home happy with assorted gifts. ####

Bayelsa Wins 1st South South Volleyball Championship
Bayelsa State has won the 1st South South volleyball championship at Alfred Diette Sports Complex in Port Harcourt. Bayelsa State beat Rivers State to take the first place trophy in male event.
Rivers State started the game with the impression that she is the 17th National Sports Festival gold medalist as such still has the fire to make it happen as she played with an amazing strike force from the beginning of the game. While Bayelsa was a more calculative side to outwit the 17th National Sports Festival gold medalist.
However, Rivers State did not disappoint her fans at all, as she claimed the first position in female event by beating Bayelsa State. Bayelsa State came second place, while the girls from Shell claimed the third place. It was indeed a nice game in all the stages.
Individual best prizes were given out as Miss Helen from Bayelsa State was voted the female best volleyballer of the championship, while No. 12 jersey from Rivers State volleyball team was voted the best male volleyballer of the championship. Prizes were given to both players as a way of encouragement.

Kadiri Ikhana Quits?
Story making the rounds the nations sports fraternity has it that Coach of Super Falcons, Kadiri Ikhana has quit his position as Coach of the Senior Female National Team, the Falcons, on his own without being sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
This was said to be due to the dismal performance of the Falcons at this year’s African Women Nations Cup. The position of Coach Ikhana has generated lots of reactions across Nigeria, among football lovers. Some opined that the veteran coach should be given the boot, while some are of the opinion that he should be given time to position himself with the Falcons, of whatever opinion you have, may be of paramount concern to Nigerians as the condition of the national teams is everybody’s concern.
But should Ikhana quit his position because of the dismal performance of his girls?
Whatever that happened at the competition, continuity is the best answer to our football development. Ikhana is known to be a good coach in the African continent, courtesy of his back to back records of winning for Nigeria for the first time Club African Champions League was won by Enyimba under his coachship.
Though, he had not coached the female and male football side may not be the same, hence the approach in their coaching methods may differ slightly.
