Rivers Police Smash 6 Man Gang, Arrest Members

The Rivers State Police Command with the combination of Brigade AKU has smashed a notorious kidnapping suspect based in Kaani in Ogoni in Khana local government of Rivers State on 2nd of November, 2012.
Release available to our news desk indicate that the police got involved in the rescue mission following investigation into the kidnap of the one Biram Karakus, a Turkish national and staff of Rivigo Construction Company in Port Harcourt, a combined team of Operatives of the Rivers State police command and Brigade Aku, stormed the camp of a notorious gang which is also responsible for kidnapping, armed robbery, killing of policemen and killing civilian in recent past, in Kaani Ogoni.
On arrival at the camp, the hoodlums opened fire on the team to enable them escape, however luck ran out on them.
Six in number including 2 ladies sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to hospital.
Six of their operating Ak47 rifles, 44rds of live ammunition, 17 magazines and assorted charms were recovered.
This ugly incident happened on the 2nd of November at about 0.25hrs without the swift intervention of the security operatives the notorious dare devil killers might have either killed the Turkish national or made some easy money from him.
To join in keeping the state free of crime, the Rivers State police command has charged all residents in the state to aid the command work effectively by reporting any suspected movement, saying that the police work better when information is supplied by the public to serve the people better.
