Jerry Nyechi from AirAsault Golf club has won the 7th edition of Lambic 2 days classic golf tournament hosted by the Port Harcourt Club 1928 Golf section on the 4th of November, 2012.
Speaking to the audience how he won the tournament, happy Nyechi said it was God as he could not tell how he emerged winner of the 2 days tournament. He expressed joy and thanked Lambic Technical service for sponsoring the tournament.
The sponsor of the tournament Ignatius Ekahialam reveals that he has been a football lover and golf, I played golf myself. I have done something in football, so I think it would be a nice idea also going into sponsoring a golf tournament to bring golfers from the corporate world and the south east together in a way of promoting friendship and good neighbourliness. He promised to make the tournament more interesting come the 8th edition.
It was indeed fun to be with golfers from different background as they socialized in the most amicable manner.
The corporate world was full involved as they also sponsor some of the prize items won by winners in the different categories. UBA, Shell and others actually participated apart from sponsoring the tournament and also won corporate participation prize.
The tournament could be described as 3 in one tournament. The most interesting part of the tournament is the winner given two trophies a bigger one and a smaller one. He was asked to keep the smaller trophy for himself while returning the bigger one is a new introduction to the tournament from the sponsor. ###
