Chief Diamond Tobin- West seeks to become the president of Port Harcourt club 1928, come November 2nd 2012.
Port Harcourt club 1928 is a social recreational club owned by socialite and private businessmen in the state but has serviced more than the purpose it was established, as it has always come in rescue to the Rivers State government when occasion of national sports festival arises.
It would be recalled that during the 17th National Sports Festival hosted by Port Harcourt city, tagged the Garden City Games, 2011. It was Port Harcourt club that provided for athletes in events like lawn tennis, golf, Darts, chess and squash in addition to the facilities for these events.
Chief Diamond Tobin-West has been a strong financial member of the club for years and finds it interesting to be in the helm of affairs as to administer the famous club.
He is also a seasoned sports man who had represented the state in the past, a politician and business administrator, one time chairman of ASALGA.
According to Chief West, a vote for him will secure the following seven points agenda for the club. He promises to complete the third phase of the main club house, he assures to introduce the much needed family culture in the club, in addition to leading a transparent accountable, responsible, efficient, effective and stable management committee.
The former chairman of ASALGA also said, he is prepared to transform the share values with fairness and integrity through the employment of power of reasoning, decency, decorum, logic and focus to the club members. “I will mobilize corporate sponsorship to up-grade the club decaying sporting facilities.
He also assured to facilitate effective networking in the club, and work with his team to effectively supervise and improve services and conduct of the club employees and services producers at the various bars, kitchens and officers in the club.
He sincerely thinks a vote for him will never be a waste as he is mentally and socially prepared to serve the club with the best of his might as to attract investors to the club, as well as to improve the club social recognition outside the shores of Nigeria. ####
