TIMARIV marshals are in for the unexpected from the Rivers State govt as the governor has said that anyone of the marshals caught extorting money from members of the public was to be prosecuted.
Governor Chibuike Amaechi stated this as he paid the three months salaries being owned the marshals by the Rivers State government.
Amaechi made this revelation while talking on a radio programme. According to him; he believes that because the state government has not paid the TIMARIV Marshals their three months salaries, that is why they are extorting money from the public. He warned that as he pays the three months salaries anyone among them caught extorting money from members of the public will be jailed to three months.###
