Press Release

An eight-man Elders’ Council of the Rivers State Independent Publishers Association (RIVPA) has been reconstituted.
The resolve to reconstitute the Council was reached recently at a meeting in Port Harcourt, in order to fill the vacuum created by the exit of the Publisher of The Beacon, Mr Minere Amakiri, its pioneer Chairman, who passed on to eternity more than a year ago.
The enlarged and reconstituted Elders’ Council now has Publisher of The Mirror, Isikima Harry (Chairman), Publisher of Surveillance, Chief Monday Wehere (Secretary) and Publisher of Niger Delta Today, Solomon Parakom, Public Relations Officer (PRO).
Also on the list of influential members of the Council are Publisher of The Port Harcourt Telegraph, Hon Ogbonna Nwuke, Publisher of National Network, Pastor Jerry Needam, Publisher of Today’s Topnews, Hon Ngo Martyns-Yellowe and Publisher of The Hard Truth, Opunabo Christian Inko-Tariah.
Signed:
Solomon Parakom (JP)
