Nuptial Night

Smiles plastered on face, sweats on brows smear
As her full riverine waist shows its might
Naked feet wake the dust this time ev’ year
Under the eyes of Moon, the Chief invite
The maidens luxuriate in stars and breeze’s cheer
The hollow whistle of wind kissing tree is tight
The GBIM! GBIM! Of men’s hearts about to tear
Give erotic imbalance to the balanced night
Breathing like stalking grisly bear
Drinking the scene like city niteclub ladies night.

Every nuptial night, men best Njiri wear
Atibo sparkle and shoes glow in the moonlight
Proud Papa’s cap, sits stop the men’s gear
The Mkpara and studs add to men’s heights

Dancer tumbles after dancer, for night to compare
Each unafraid for her, pair of eyes watch out of sight
Swallowed by the crowd, suitors sit near fear
Ears stand when words about a maiden cIte

Men Ogle, as soaked blouses glue chest of their dears
Adams apple juggles as bounce breasts bait bite
The husband to be will fill Minji Se wit heirs
As those husbands who brought them to earths light

Even the pope in this crowd none will indict
The Bible Chief and the juju priest sits on same long chair
Today religion end culture won’t fight
This beautiful night, brings claps, cheers and no jeers
The village square decorated in fine dust is comely site
The city comes to our villages this time every year
City boys with eyes roving like hungry kites
Pounce on maidens ripe as dangling pears
Time will tell if to share their lives or what just appetites.
