The Revelation of Odudu Music Awards, Season 4, would take place on September 1, 2012, by 6pm at Atlantic Hall, Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, while the main event comes up in December, 2012.
Odudu Music Awards, is a yearly event instituted by Comedian Michael Ogolo to fish out budding talents in music.
This year’s award would feature Bulkwild, Kessydriz, Pastor Chinelo, Dilimono, Duncan Mighty and others.
“The Revelation is the pre-award event. The Revelation kick starts the award for the year. In the Revelation for instance, what we do is to show you what we have planned for the year, how the December which is the main award time will run, what categories will be judged so that people can put in, those expected to be honoured and those that will not be honoured for the year, what is going to happen and what is not going to happen,” Michael Ogolo stated in an earlier interview with The Newswriter.
On encouraging artistes, Ogolo stated, “There is that something that you have won an award. It places you where you will not come down. Through my music awards, I have encouraged artistes to work harder than they used to. I was happy the CARNIRIV committee last year, asked me to give the list of nominees and winners of my awards for them to choose. Most of them that performed at the CARNIRIV were artistes from my stable, … the little boy that sang in my Revelation and my Odudu award was that same boy who won N500,000 at the Niger Delta Empowerment concert which Asu Ekiye did. The boy went to Ondo state from Port Harcourt and won”.
According to Ogolo, the award was borne out of the urge to step up the music industry, entertainment in general, in Rivers State, Port Harcourt.
“We want to tell everyone that entertainment in Rivers is back,” he added.
