The Centre for Church Music has decided to organize a church music seminar, from Monday 10th to Sunday 16th September 2012 at Methodist Comprehensive High School, No 1 Ogbia Mbonu Street, D-Line, Port Harcourt.
According to REV. NKEM OFUELUE, the PRINCIPAL of the Centre, the seminar would feature rudiments of music, sight reading and sight singing, workshop and its relationship to music, choral conducting, Applied Music study and the study of the principal instruments, Keyboard and instruments techniques, Choir management and ensemble studies, among others.
It will be concluded with a ground breaking concert, featuring the graduation of the first set of church music students of the school, as well as the passing out of the workshop participants on Sunday September 16, 2012 at Methodist Church Nigeria, D-Line.
The Principal said Centre for Church “is divinely raised to re-awaken passion and genuineness in the church music and to raise a generation of those who worship the father in spirit and in truth”.
“Centre for church music is also the producers of the radio programme, golden hymns on Treasure 98.5 FM Port Harcourt and the Golden Gate Orchestral Choir Port Harcourt,” Ofuelue concluded.
