A youth activist from Abual/Odual local government Area- Com. Idiowa Francis has appealed to the federal Government to please mount pressure on the company(ies) handling the East-West Road in Rivers State to speed up and finish the road as the road according to him, has become not just accident prone due to its state of disrepair but an outright death trap.
According to the activist the road rather than help ameliorate the suffering of road users has become the reason why accidents regularly occur on that axis.
Comrade Idiowa Francis noted that the current President by virtue of his coming from the Niger Delta has the audacity and impetus to order for the completion of the road.
The comrade stressed that the Okogbe tanker accident that occurred in Ahoada West LGA and other accidents that has either claimed lives in hundreds or maimed people along that road are pointers to the fact that the road needs to be immediately completed. ###
