Hon. Maurice Pronen Empowers Ogoni Women

The Representative of Khana/Gokana in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Maurice Pronen has empowered women of the constituency with cash.
This Pronen did in the formal inauguration of his constituency office at Bori on Friday August 3, 2012, charging the beneficiaries not to divert the money for different things other than business which the money was given them for.
He further said that the constituency is to serve as a catalyst between him and the people, adding that his plan for the area is to put security in place.
Speaking at the occasion, the members representing Khana constituency and Gokana constituencies, Hon. Legborsi Nwidadah and Dr. Innocent Barikor respectively, advised the beneficiaries to make proper use of the money as the donor will come back to monitor what they are doing with the funds.
Speaking to newsmen, the chairman, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Gokana LGA, Hon. Second Bakor and Eric Nwibani lauded Hon. Pronen for the gesture, asking those who did not benefit in this batch to be patient as Pronen has promised to continue in the gesture and it would get to them.
In his speech, Mr. Nwidubabari Nwiedam commended Pronen, saying that this is the first time that an elected representative is empowering people openly and asked him to sustain the tempo, while urging others to emulate him.
He appreciated politicians in Ogoni, noting that they are more united and focus than ever before.
Nwidubabari commended the Khana local government council chairman Hon. Gregory Nwiedam for his water project and infrastructure which he said has extended to about 30 communities.
In another development the Chief Imam, Central Mosque in Bori Headquarters of Khana Local Government Area, Alhaji Yahaya I. Abdullahi regretted the pandemonium the country is thrown into by some bad eggs in the Muslim fold asking the leadership of the nation to handle the situation accordingly.
He used the Ramadan fasting period to pray to Allah to restore peace in the nation asking people of other faith to try to understand that bad ones are found in every group of people that they of the Muslim faith condemn the Boko Haram activities.
The Imam thanked the people of Ogoni for tolerating them allowing than to practice their faith without molestation. ####
