There Is Still Hope For Education – Prof. B. B. Fakae

The Vice Chancellor, Rivers State University of Science and Technology Prof. Barineme B. Fakae has declared that there is still hope for academic and standard level of Education in Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor stated this at the end of the University Demonstration Nursery and Primary School graduation ceremony on Thursday, July 26, 2012, after observing pupils of Primary 2 reading news. He encouraged those who have lost hope for education in the country, saying better days are coming.
Fakae used the occasion to advise all to embrace the work of the UniTech Women Association, UWA, in the development of the children and putting structures in place, as they are sacrifices to humanity and the school, adding that women are wives of staff working in the university and they would not go with the buildings when they leave the university.
In her address, the UWA president, Mrs. Dorathy B. Fakae, (JP) charged the outgoing pupils of primary 6 and some of them in primary 5 to keep the fire burning both in their private and academic lives, strive to remain the best and that God will bless them for doing these.
Dorathy called on well-meaning individuals, corporate bodies, organizations and even the university authority to key into their vision and assist them to finally actualize the dream of giving these young minds a befitting learning environment.
She said UWA shall ever remain grateful to the Vice Chancellor and his team of management for being supportive to them to bring their dreams and vision to reality and applauded them for redeeming their promises made during the Inter-House sports to roof the classroom building project.
She further lauded the VC for redeeming his N10,000.00 prize for the best graduating students and thanked the PTA for supporting and installing windows in their new building.
Again, she thanked Mrs. Chinyere Chukwu, the Branch Manager, UBA, RSUST, for the donation of N10,000 to the best graduating student, asking God to replenish her source as well as acknowledged all friends of UWA, Skybank, Ecobank and other banks on the campus, including extreme engineers.
She also used the opportunity to commend the teachers and entire staff of UWA School. ###
